Utilizing social media
Now, more than ever, it’s important to be social media savvy.
In a recent survey of Angie’s List members, 58 percent of respondents use social media (blogs, Twitter, Facebook, etc…).
Forty-seven percent of respondents who use social media are using it daily, and another third of respondents are using it multiple times per week. By harnessing the power of social media, you can keep your company (and any special deals, promotions or offers) in the forefront of your customers’ minds. Plus, you’ll be able to see what people are saying about your business—or your competition.
- Don’t be afraid to check Twitter search or a blog search for mentions of your company. If you find something (positive or negative) do your best to respond in a professional manner, just like responding to an Angie’s List report.
- Find a type of social media that works for you. With so many options available, you can do anything from creating a podcast or YouTube video about your company to adding a blog and linking to it from your company website. You can answer questions, provide seasonal advice or address common issues you see. Keep it professional, though!
- Make it personal. Social media is supposed to be social, so don’t shy away from contacting your clients or letting them know that you’re out there.
