NEWSIt's 2008 - do you know what your voicemail says? Angie's List recently polled members to find out how important phone etiquette is when deciding who to hire. 83% said it's very important. If you haven't checked your voicemail message or brushed up on etiquette with your employees in a while, it might be time to have that chat.
Here's what else we found out:
- 61% always leave messages when calling service companies if there's not a live answer.
- 62% expect a call back that day.
- 28% prefer to contact the company via email.
- 57% expect an email response the same day.
Tip: If you can't respond to an email the same day, consider setting up an auto-reply message to let members know a timeframe for expecting to hear back. If the same applies to phone calls, mention a timeframe in your outgoing message.
